Metal Gear Solid HD Edition also heading to PlayStation Vita platform in 2012

Hideo Kojima, the game director best known for the Metal Gear franchise, revealed at the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) press conference on Wednesday that he is personally designing and directing a new game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms. However, he added the title is not yet ready to be announced. The new game will use his studio's Fox Engine as the underlying game software engine so he can maintain near the same quality on both platforms.

SCEJ issued a press release on Wednesday that revealed the PlayStation Vita software lineup includes a new role-playing game from the game studio Level-5 (Rogue Galaxy, White Knight Chronicles, Professor Layton, Gundam AGE).

The previously announced Metal Gear Solid HD Edition is also coming the PlayStation Vita platform in 2012.
