Yotsuba's Danbo Used as Thai Public TV Show's Mascot

Yotsuba&! manga's studio confirms that Little Citizen show asked permission

Little Citizen, a television show on Thailand's public broadcaster Thai PBS, is using the Yotsuba&! manga's cardboard robot suit Danbo as its mascot, and the studio behind the manga confirmed on Friday that the show asked permission. Kiyohiko Azuma, the creator of Yotsuba&!, added that he does not understand anything in the show's ad.

Several life-size replicas of Danbo's Amazon variant also appeared in last year's Pride Parade in Seattle; the online retailer Amazon is headquartered in that city. American teenaged photographer Arielle Nadel photographed Kaiyodo's Revoltech Danbo action figure at various locales every day for an entire year, and ASCII Media Works and Kadokawa Group Publishing released a photo collection book last October. ASCII Media Works is the publisher of Yotsuba&! in Japan, while ADV Manga and later Yen Press published the manga in North America.
