Yotsuba&! Manga Inspires Gun-Toting Danbō Model Kit

Kotobukiya's June plastic model recreates cardboard robot suit — with weapon mounts

The model maker Kotobukiya will release a plastic model of the Danbō cardboard robot suit from Kiyohiko Azuma's Yotsuba&! manga in June.

When built, the model kit will stand 12.5 centimeters (about 5 inches) tall and can be posed in a variety of stances. The model also features "light-up" eyes and an on/off switch — although the kit does not actually come with any working electrical parts.

Thanks to 3-millimeter holes in its arms and back, the model can hoist guns and other weapons from Kotobukiya's M.S.G. and Frame Arms accessory lines (sold separately).
