The game developer Gust announced at the Dengeki Game Festival 2012 event on Sunday that it will release "Project A14," the tentatively titled new game in the Atelier franchise. Marina Inoue revealed in a video message that she will voice "Project A14's" main character (previewed at right). The "item preparation/synthesis role-playing game" is slated for the PlayStation 3 console in Japan in June.
The game's director Yoshito Okamura made the announcement with voice actress Mariya Ise, who will play the little sister of the main character. Okamura said that the new project is separate from the Arland role-playing game trilogy that preceded it in the Atelier franchise.
The theme of the new game is "the promise begins." Yoshito Okamura added that the theme has various meanings, such as the promise between the main character and her sister, and the promise from the developer to the users.
ASCII Media Works' Dengeki PlayStation magazine will feature "Project A14" on its cover and as the main feature on March 29.
