Atlus to release PSP port with new opening by Madhouse in Japan on May 17

The video game news website Famitsu began streaming a second promotional video for the upcoming PlayStation Portable port of the Persona 2: Eternal Punishment video game on Wednesday. The game was originally released on the PlayStation console in Japan and North America in 2000. The port is slated for a May 17 release in Japan. The video game developer Atlus previously streamed a promotional video and a commercial for the game last month.

The updated version will have new story scenarios, new characters, a new opening anime from Studio Madhouse, and refined background music. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment for the PlayStation Portable will retail for 6,279 yen (about US$76). A North American release for the game has not yet been announced.

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is a companion game to the Persona 2: Innocent Sin game, which was released in Japan on the PlayStation console in 1999, but was never distributed in North America. Atlus USA released the PlayStation Portable port version of Persona 2: Innocent Sin in North America on September 20.
