Soul Sacrifice fantasy action game to be unveiled on Thursday

A 38-second character video for the Sol Trigger role-playing game and a 36-second preview video for the Soul Sacrifice action game began streaming on Tuesday. A three-minute gameplay video for Dragon's Dogma role-playing game was also posted.

The Sol Trigger video introduces the character Valter (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita). Valter's Sol Arm is a large scythe, and he uses his power to avenge the death of a close friend. The game's story centers on warriors who release their souls and make miracles.

Sol Trigger will include turn-based battles and multiple difficulty modes. The artist Shuji Sogabe (God Eater, Persona 4 manga) is designing the characters based on the original scenario by Kazushige Nojima (Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts ). The disc version of Sol Trigger will cost 6,279 yen (about US$78), while the downloadable version will cost 5,600 yen (US$70). Imageepoch will release the game for the PlayStation Portable in Japan on August 30.

The Soul Sacrifice video teases the fantasy action game, which will be unveiled at an event at the Tokyo International Forum center on May 10. The May 3 issue of Enterbrain's Weekly Famitsu magazine previewed the PlayStation Vita game, and a seven-page feature on the game will also appear in the magazine's May 24 issue.

The Dragon's Dogma gameplay video features a nighttime battle using a Warrior class player character. The Capcom Unity site posted six Fighter and Strider character class videos in February. In the role-playing game, players can customize characters and roam the landscape to hunt dragons and combat other enemies. CAPCOM will release Dragon's Dogma on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles on May 22 for North America, May 24 for Japan, and May 25 for Europe and Australia.
