Piece Sci-Fi Mystery Film Announced as 1st 'Toei Hero Next' Title

The Oricon Style website has revealed that the Piece: Kioku no Kakera (Pieces of Memories) film will be the first title in the new "Toei Hero Next" live-action brand. The brand will feature titles starring actors from their various tokusatsu hero and Kamen Rider hero series in more mature roles. Piece will be a "novel science fiction mystery" title featuring Shu Watanabe and Ryosuke Miura, both of whom starred in the 2010 to 2011 Kamen Rider OOO series.
The title tells the story of a reporter, played by Watanabe, and a photographer with five split personalities, played by Miura, attempting to discover what is behind the "Megalopolis Gorgon Incidents," where people become petrified and die. The screenplay for the film is penned by Kamen Rider W head writer Riku Sanjō, and the film will be directed by Ten Yamashita (SHINOBI live-action film)
Piece: Kioku no Kakera will be released in Japanese theaters this fall, with DVDs available for home video rental on November 9 and for sale on November 21.
