Pokémon Black 2/White 2 Games' Trailer, Ads Streamed

Nintendo began streaming an overview trailer and television commercials on the Wii's Minna no Nintendo Channel on Wednesday for Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, the latest generation in Nintendo's Pokémon game franchise. The games will ship on the Nintendo DS handheld console on June 23 in Japan for 4,800 yen (about US$60).

Nintendo also began a streaming an overview trailer on Wednesday for a downloadable game for the Nintendo 3DS titled Pokémon AR Searcher. In the game, players can use the camera on the Nintendo 3DS to find and catch Pokémon. Those Pokémon can then be transferred as useable characters in the Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 game. Pokémon AR Searcher will be available on the Nintendo eShop in Japan on June 23 for 300 yen (about US$3.75).

Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 will ship in North America and Europe this fall. The games are set two years after the first Pokémon: Black & White games. They will introduce two new forms of legendary Pokémon (Black Kyurem and White Kyurem), the player's onscreen male or female persona, the protagonist's childhood friend and rival, the mysterious character Akuroma, and the new gym leaders (Homika and Shizui). New locations have also been added to the land of Isshu (known as Unova in North America).
