A Certain Magical Index x Scientific Railgun Game's Magic Side Promo Posted

Toaru Majutsu to Kagaku no Ensemble serves as prologue to February film

Namco Bandai Games began streaming the Magic Side (Reverse) promotional video for Toaru Majutsu to Kagaku no Ensemble (A Certain Magical and Scientific Ensemble) crossover video game on Thursday.

The game trailer introduces the game as a "story that takes place a few days before the 'miracle' begins" in next February's A Certain Magical Index film. The original novels' author and the game's supervisor, Kazuma Kamachi, conceived the new scenarios for the game. Although the games begin with four story routes (two on the Science Side and two on the Magic Side), the routes intertwine at a certain point.

The casts of A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun anime will reprise their roles in the game. In addition, Yoshiko Sakakibara will voice the sorcerer Urepady Exica, and Marina Inoue will voice another orignal game character, Sōzuty, who poses as a transfer student. Iori Nomizu and Kotori Koiwai also play new characters, the girls Hibiki Kukimoto and Kazami Sakurazaka, respectively.

The game will arrive in Japan on February 21, 2013 — two days before the film opens. The normal version will cost 6,280 yen (about US$80). A limited-edition version will run for 9,980 yen (about US$127), and will include 4 Chibi-Kyun mini-figures: two of the returning heroines Misaka and Index, and the other two of Urepady Exica and Hibiki Kukimoto. It will also bundle a stage set for the figures and come in a box with an exclusive illustration by the animators at J.C. Staff.
