Namco Bandai Makes 3DS Game of U.S. 3D CG Pac-Man Show (Updated)

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures to ship on PS3/Xbox 360/Wii U/3DS this fall

Namco Bandai Games America announced on Tuesday that it will release the Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures game for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U systems in fall 2013 in North and Latin America. A side-scrolling version of the game for the Nintendo 3DS will also ship in fall 2013.

The game adapts Avi Arad (Marvel's recent live-action films, Innocent graphic novel) and Rick Ungar's (X-Men: Evolution, Biker Mice From Mars) 3D CG animated series that will air on America's Disney XD channel this fall or later.

Namco Bandai describes the game as follows:

The game revolves around the vibrant universe of Pac-World, where Pacworlders lived in peace until the mischievous Netherworld ghosts, led by their wicked leader Betrayus, escaped from their ghoulish domain to forcibly take control of Pac-World. Pac-World's only hope lies in the last surviving yellow Pacworlder, our hero with a voracious appetite.

The game will feature a "revamped" Pac-Man universe but will still feature classic elements such as Ghost encounters.

Namco Bandai revealed in the announcement that it has no current plans to release the game in Japan.

Update: Namco Bandai Games posted an announcement trailer for the game on Tuesday.
