Deadly Premonition's Swery65, Panzer Dragoon's Futatsugi Developing Games for Xbox One (Updated)

New Xbox One console to ship in November for US$499

Microsoft revealed at its Xbox media briefing at E3 on Monday that Microsoft Studios and director Hidetaka "Swery65" Suehiro (Deadly Premonition, Lord of Apocalypse, Ace Combat: Joint Assault) are creating the D4 episodic murder-mystery game for the Xbox One console. Microsoft also revealed that it is working with Yukio Futatsugi (Panzer Dragoon series) to create the Crimson Dragon game (pictured at right) for Xbox One.

Microsoft began its conference with a story and gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, confirming that the game will also be available on Xbox One. Microsoft also showed a trailer for Dark Souls 2 and confirmed that the game will ship for Xbox 360 in March 2014.

Microsoft unveiled a new slimmer and quieter Xbox 360 console that will be available starting today. The new design is based on the Xbox One's design.

Additionally, Microsoft also revealed that XBox Live Gold members get two free games per month, with the first free games available being Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed II. Microsoft is additionally moving from Microsoft Points to real money on XBox Live when the Xbox One launches. Microsoft is also partnering with Twitch for gameplay streaming for all Xbox One games.

Microsoft also revealed or showed trailers for the following Western-developed games:

  • Wargaming West's World of Tanks for Xbox 360
  • Crytek's Ryse: Son of Rome for Xbox One
  • RARE's Killer Instinct for Xbox One
  • Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive for Xbox One
  • Turn 10's Forza Motorsports 5 for Xbox One
  • Mojang's Minecraft for Xbox One
  • Remedy Entertainment's Quantum Break for Xbox One
  • Microsoft Studio's Project Spark for Xbox One
  • CAPCOM's Dead Rising 3 for Xbox One
  • CD PROJEKT RED's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Xbox One
  • EA and Dice's Battlefield 4 for Xbox One
  • Capybara Games' Below for Xbox One
  • Black Tusk Studios' yet unnamed game for Xbox One
  • Microsoft Studios' new Halo game for Xbox One to ship in 2014
  • Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall for Xbox One

Microsoft will ship its Xbox One console in 21 countries in November 2013 for US$499, £429, or €499.

Update: Video game news websites IGN and Gamespot have posted official trailers for both Crimson Dragon and D4.
