Atelier Series' Sterk Joins Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate Game

PS3/PS Vita game to ship in Japan on September 26

Tecmo KOEI Games announced on Thursday that Atelier series' character Sterkenburg "Sterk" Cranach, voiced by Juurouta Kosugi, will be joining the cast of the Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate game (titled Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate in Japan). Sterk is an original knight of the Arland Republic who is cool and collected but will speak passionately when it comes to topics concerning chivalry. His introduction to the Warriors games comes after he finishes an escort mission and returns to Arland. On his way back, he ends up walking into a space-time distortion and ends up in another world. Sterk will appear in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate as he appears in the Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland game at age 39.

Those who purchase the first edition of the game will get a product code to download special Halloween costumes for Kaguya, Mitsunari Ishida, and Zhao Yun (pictured below). Those who pre-order the game will also receive a special Halloween costume postcard of the characters.

Last month, Tecmo KOEI executive vice president Hisashi Koinuma stated that the company would "probably consider" a Dynasty Warriors-style game with characters from Gust's Atelier franchise. Koinuma was responding to a tongue-in-cheek question about a hypothetical "Atelier Warriors" game, and Koinuma noted that "a lot of Japanese fans have been talking about the same thing."

The original Musou OROCHI game featured characters from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors while Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate will include Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors as well as characters from Dead or Alive, and the Atelier series. The game is slated for release on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita on September 26. The PS Vita version is 6,090 yen (about US$61) and 5,400 yen (US$54) for PlayStation Network download. The PlayStation 3 copy will be 6,615 yen (US$67) and 5,800 yen (US$58) for PlayStation Network download.
