Company to release PS3 game as a download-only title this fall

Namco Bandai Games America confirmed with ANN that it will release the Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers PlayStation 3 game this fall in North America. The game will be available for download only. Namco Bandai Games is also releasing the game outside of Japan in Europe, Australasia, and South America.

Dimps is developing the game, which will include playable characters from the Sanctuary, Poseidon and Hades arcs from Masami Kurumada's mythological fantasy manga and anime. Up to two players can fight as Pegasus Seiya, Phoenix Ikki, Andromeda Shun, Cygnus Hyōga, and Dragon Shiryū. Gemini Saga, Sea King Poseidon, and Meiō Hades will also appear for the first time in a game adaptation as bosses. Players will be able to enhance their characters' hit points, strength levels and "Cosmos Power Gauge" as they progress through the game.

Namco Bandai Games America told the Siliconera news website on Friday that the company is releasing the game in North America to gauge how large the fanbase is for Saint Seiya.
