Tsuburaya Productions Honored With Special Ultraman Exhibit

posted on by Bamboo Dong

To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tsuburaya Productions Co., fans will have the unique opportunity to check out a special exhibition devoted to Ultra superheroes and other tokusatsu special effects.

Located at the Broadcast Library in Yokohama from December 12 to February 16, the free exhibit will highlight the history of Tsuburaya Productions Co., the special effects studio best known for the live-action Ultraman franchise.

The exhibit will feature dioramas featuring scenes from the final episode of Ultra Seven and other scenes, as well as props, screenplays, production items, as well as action figures from various iterations of the Ultra heroes. Visitors will also be able to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how the studio creates its special effects sequences.

Earlier this year, Ultraman was recognized by the Guinness World Records committee as the television series with the most number of spinoffs in the world, with 27.
