Pikachu, AKB48 Teams Up With Adidas to Support Japan's 2014 World Cup Team

Pikachu and his Pokémon friends are pairing with adidas to support Japan at this year's World Cup. The specific details of the promotion are still under wraps so far. The iconic electric mouse has appeared in Japan's team shirt in a few images and in person.
The shoe brand has also enlisted the help of Japanese pop sensation AKB48. The idols donned soccer jerseys for a television commercial. The commercial hasn't aired yet but adidas is streaming a behind-the-scenes look.

The World Cup is being held in Brazil from June 12 to July 13. Japan is opening in Group C with Greece, Côte d'Ivoire, and Colombia.
