A Look at Niconico Chokaigi3

posted on by Sarah Nelkin

This week marked the third annual Niconico Chōkaigi event in Chiba, Japan's Makuhari Messe convention center. At the venue, many anime and video game companies displayed their plans for future items, as well as sold special products and held events.

Here's a look at the first day:

At noon, hopeful visitors were forced to wait in a barely moving line for over an hour to get inside the event. This is the front of that line.

At the entrance, an Attack on Titan display greeted visitors. Hired cosplayers were available to take photos with in front of a giant Titan, and participants received a Chōcolate wafer snack from the sponsor.

Just a few of the screens of live events available at the center's entrance. Each screen was surrounded by fragrant live flowers.

Magic The Gathering had a large booth promoting Magic 2015 Duels of the Planeswalkers. Players were also able to sample new cards, and emcees played the game with live streaming.
