Melocure to Release New CD 11 Years After Their Demise

posted on by Eric Stimson
Old hits combined with rearrangements

The J-pop vocal unit Melocure will release a new CD, Melodic Super Hard Cure, on July 29, 11 years after their breakup. The CD will combine Melocure hits with rearranged versions by Mito of the band Clammbon, Suemitsu & the Suemith, Tatsuya Nishiwaki, and Keita Kawaguchi as well as Megumi Hinata's solo hits.

Melocure consisted of Megumi Hinata and Ritsuko Okazaki, two singers who had achieved success with songs such as Hinata's "Catch You Catch Me" (used as the opening theme to Card Captor Sakura) and Okazaki's "For Fruits Basket" (the opening theme for Fruits Basket). The unit formed in 2002 but dissolved in 2004 upon Okazaki's untimely death. The new CD's name is a reference to their 2004 album, Melodic Hard Cure.

The tracklist will be:

  • Itoshii Kakera (opening theme to UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie)
  • Agape (insert song for UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie)
