Grandma Races Back to Youth in New Mobile Game

posted on by Carlos Cadorniga

It's a literal race against time as one grandmother dashes back to a younger age in a new mobile game.

In what is simply known as "Girlfriend (alt.)", players take control of an elderly woman who runs backwards in time to reclaim her years and become young again. The game's title screen is an obvious parody of the Girl Friend (BETA) social game by Cyber Agent's blogging website Ameba. The dating game has over 100 girls, each voiced by a different voice actress. Is this granny racing back in time to be your girlfriend?

Gameplay video

As the woman runs backwards, a counter in the corner representing her age steadily decreases. Players must quickly shift the woman to different positions on the screen as obstacles constantly impede her from her goal. As the counter reaches certain points, the woman visibly becomes younger and younger and is able to move faster, causing obstacles to approach faster as well. Stages continue until the age counter reaches 16 and the grandma physically reverts to said age, reclaiming her youth. As evidenced by the game screens, players will have at least three stages to choose from. The game is currently available on iOS and Android devices.

The game was produced by LIICA, who previously worked on a mobile puzzle game known as "Q".
