Metal Gear Lives on in Fan's Unreal Engine 4 Project
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The beloved Metal Gear Solid franchise may continue without Hideo Kojima, either through a new line of pachinko games or through the dedicated works by fans.
IndieDB user Boker is working on a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid game, titled "Outer Heaven," using the Unreal Engine 4. Boker promises the project will include all of the original title's storyline with game play reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid V but also the perspective seen in the original game.

The project has no release date at this time. Remaking classic titles with the Unreal Engine 4 has gathered a lot of steam lately. Animator Michael Eurek recreated locations from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and YouTuber CryZENx put Link and Pokémon into an Unreal Engine 4 environment utilizing "A Boy and His Kite" demo assets. Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog also got Unreal Engine 4 upgrades.
