Pixar may see some competition from this animated independent short film.

A new animated short was recently uploaded on YouTube and Niconico Video entitled "Tokyo Cosmo." This five-minute video tells the simple tale of a young woman imagining her normal life being a bit more extraordinary. The film was directed by Takahiro Miyauchi. Takuya Okada worked on the CG and story drafting. The CGI staff included Yuuya Tsubouchi. Okada has previously worked with Shirogumi Inc., who have worked on anime such as 2015's Etotama.

The short film is currently nominated for the TBS DigiCon6 Awards, where the audience can vote for one of 10 animated films from around Asia to see which film is best. The voting will take place until November 6 and will be possible from the contest's official site.

Entries from other countries include "CAMT LIGHT OF THE NEXTGEN" from Thailand and "Switch man" from Taiwan. The other entries are "Technicolor," "Behind the Schoolbag," "Life Smartphone," "Crime Against Woman Film- Porcupine Jacket," "Poppet," "Johnny Express" and "Presto By Dead Strawberry."
