Masami Kurumada published the original Saint Seiya manga from 1986 to 1990 and it has since spawned a multimedia franchise of video games, manga, and anime sequels and spin-offs. Kurumada himself is currently serializing the Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Meiō Shinwa Gaiden and Saint Seiya: Next Dimension - The Myth of Hades manga. The Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold television anime premiered last April.
