The Pokémon Company International kicked off 2016 with a series of announcements to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokémon Red & Blue. Included in that announcement were Nendoroids of the game's classic starters' evolutions and protagonist.

The first of these Nendoroids are the characters Red, his rival Green, and Mew. They also come with a backpack and two Pokéball accessories. Both characters have alternate faces, hands, and feet parts.

All three will be sold together as a set for 7,500 yen (US$64). Pre-orders are opening on February 27 and will be accepted until March 31. The site notes that they will only be sold through Pokémon Centers, Amazon.co.jp's Pokémon Store and the Pokémon EXPO Gym shop.

The Pokémon Company International will also release new clothing, trading cards, special Pokémon Red & Blue 3DS bundles, and re-release its Pokémon amiibo, like Jigglypuff and Charizard.

An ad will air during the Super Bowl on Sunday to celebrate the anniversary.
