Shaft's Madogatari Exhibition Sees 40,000 Attendees, Adds Nagoya Location

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The SHAFT animation studio's 40th anniversary "Madogatari" exhibit opened in Tokyo on November 27 before heading to Osaka and finally wrapping up its run in Sapporo this month. The exhibit offers unique crossover goods featuring characters from the Monogatari and Madoka Magica series and sent fans clamoring to each location to see different versions of the Madoka Magica concept movie.

The event run has so far been immensely popular, bringing in 7,000 visitors in Sapporo in six days. The Tokyo run had 16,000 visitors and Osaka brought 17,000 for a total of 40,000 attendees overall. Thanks to the positive turn out and fan request, Madogatari will hit the road again and head to Nagoya on May 4. The Nagoya exhibition will last until May 8 and also hold its own unique displays at the Nagoya Trade & Industry Center.

Tickets are 1,800 yen (US$16) and will go on sale starting on March 12.
