Prince of Tennis II's Ryō Shishido Character Gets 2nd CD After 10 Years

posted on by Amanda Ellard

Hyōtei Academy's Ryō Shishido's long-awaited second solo character album for The Prince of Tennis II is almost here. It's been about 10 years since Shishido's last solo album Zero came out on February 8, 2006. This new album, I'll be right here, becomes available on September 28.

In excitement for the new release, Toshiyuki Kusuda, the voice of Shishido, commented on Twitter on September 21, "the count down to one week began! Is your heart ready?"

He also tweeted his own reaction to listening to the CD later that day,

"I was just given the album and now I've opened it, flipped through the pages of the booklet from the beginning one page at a time, and listened to the songs one by one while in reflection. I recalled various things since encountering Shishido. The booklet was full of all the years I spent so close to him. And so...the last's..."

The CD will be available in both music stores for 2,963 yen (US$29.17) and on Amazon Japan for 3,200 yen (US$31.51).

The Prince of Tennis II 2012 anime series adapts Takeshi Konomi's original The New Prince of Tennis manga, which has run in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine since 2009. The story begins several months after the national tennis tournament that ended the original Prince of Tennis story line.
