Pokémon Go Partners with Starbucks in U.S.

posted on by Alex Mateo

The official Pokémon website announced on Thursday that Starbucks will be a partner for the Pokémon Go smartphone app. About 7,800 U.S. Starbucks stores will become PokéStops and Gyms for a limited time beginning on Thursday. Starbucks will also offer a Pokémon Go Frappucino.

The staff of the app previously revealed that Sprint will be the game's first partner in the United States, similar to the way McDonalds is a partner for the game in Japan. More than 10,500 U.S. Sprint locations — including Sprint, Boost Mobile, and Sprint at Radioshack stores — will become PokéStops or Gyms.

The Pokémon Go iOS and Android app launched in select countries including the United States on July 6, and has since launched in more than 100 countries and territories. The "Pokémon GO Plus" accessory shipped on September 16.
