Nagoya Anime Project Program Offers Behind-the-Scenes Look at Anime Production

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The Nagoya Anime Project program will premiere on Chukyo TV's free video streaming service Chuun on Thursday. The series will offer a behind-the-scenes look at anime production.

The studio Sublimation has worked on 3DCG for anime such as Love Live! Sunshine!!, Ancien and the Magic Tablet, and Uchū Senkan Yamato 2202: Ai no Senshi-tachi. The company established Nagoya Studio in December. The new anime studio is aiming to complete production of an anime by 2019. The studio based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture has begun production on its first full anime. The new program will show the studio's anime production processes.

The streaming series' "Anime Seisaku no Uragawa Senbu Misemasu!" episodes will show project designs at the studio, scenario production, character designs, and the production process for 3DCG anime. The "Nagoya Anime Trend News" episodes will provide Nagoya anime news and feature anime creators, popular voice actors, and anime song singers as guests. New anime production episodes will stream every Monday at 5:00 p.m., and new Nagoya trend episodes will stream every Thursday at 5:00 p.m.

The program's cast will include (pictured right to left in above image) YO! YO! YOSUKE, the Nagoya-based "Subculture Prince"; Hiroshi Kawakami, the K&K Design director pivotal in establishing Nagoya Studio; and Jun Koishikawa, the Sublimation representative who established Nagoya Studio.

The city of Nagoya may be leading a new wave of anime production. SANZIGEN Animation Studio also established a branch in Nagoya in April.
