Hokusai Gets Life-sized, Accurate Plush Doll For His Fate/Grand Order Form
posted on by Kim Morrissy
The artist Hokusai is famous for his ukiyo-e prints. He's also a character in Fate/Grand Order, although he doesn't appear in human form. Hokusai was first introduced in the game as the octopus accompanying his daughter Katsushika Oi (also an artist) as a "Foreigner" class in 2018. This particular Hokusai is now getting an almost life-sized plush doll from Good Smile Company.
The venerable artist-cum-octopus has also inspired loungewear based on his daughter's outfit in the game. Both items will be available for early purchase at the TYPE-MOON Racing × Good Smile Company booth at the Fate/Grand Order Fes. 2019 on August 3-4. The loungewear will cost 9,000 yen (US$83), while the plush doll will cost 3,000 yen (US$27).
Hokusai and his daughter were the subject of director Keiichi Hara and Production I.G's Miss Hokusai film. His ukiyo-e works are continued inspiration in modern, pop-culture art.
