Marmalade Boy Sequel Manga to Launch in March

"Marmalade Boy Little" follows Miki & Yū's younger siblings 13 years later

Wataru Yoshizumi will launch a sequel to her popular Marmalade Boy shōjo manga in the May issue of Shueisha's Cocohana magazine on March 28. Marmalade Boy Little is set 13 years after the last installment of the original series. The sequel follows the little sister and brother of Miki and Yū, the main leads of the original series. Miki, Yū, and other characters from the original series will appear in the sequel.

The original manga centered around the romance between Miki and Yū, two teens whose parents suddenly decide to switch partners and remarry each other. Miki and Yū find themselves living under the same roof with their four mutual parents.

Yoshizumi serialized the original manga in Shueisha's Ribon magazine from 1992 to 1995. The manga sold 9.7 million copies and inspired a television anime series in 1994 and a prequel anime film in 1995. It also inspired a live-action television series in Taiwan. Tokyopop released both the manga and the television anime series in North America. The May issue of Cocohana will bundle the entire 196-page first volume of the original manga as a bonus supplement.
