SPJA Challenges Accusations

posted on by George Phillips
The SPJA has written two new statements regarding the allegations laid by Mike Tatsugawa.

The SPJA has put out two new statements regarding the allegations of mis-propriety by Mike Tatsugawa.

The first statement denies Mike Tatsugawa's allegations. In it, the SPJA declares that "at this current time [the SPJA] does not have plans to seek legal action against Mr. Tatsugawa..." on the condition that Mr. Tatsugawa ceases his allegations.

The second is a list of Myths and Facts about the SPJA and several key issues. According to this listing, the SPJA does not pay its Board of Directors, except for limited incidental expenses related to covering business affairs. It is also disclosed that Jennifer Pon, the CEO (and member of the Board of Directors) receives $30,000 per year compensation. Also, while the exact nature of the SPJA Board of Directors is not disclosed, the SPJA admits that several directors do have ties to the anime industry but states that they are not "industry seats."
