posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
The boutique manga publisher Fanfare / Ponent Mon has unveiled its 2007 publication schedule and new licenses.

Fanfare, the UK-based publisher of "nouvelle manga" and various other lesser-known Japanese comics, has announced five new manga licenses.

Continuing as the premier distributor of Jiro Taniguchi's manga in English-speaking countries, Fanfare will be releasing Taniguchi's The Ice Wanderer, a collection of short stories taking place in the north of both North America and Japan and the crime manga The Quest for the Missing Girl as well as The Summit of the Gods, drawn by Taniguchi and written by Baku Yumemakura. The Summit of the Gods is a story about the ascent of Everest, which was published in Shueisha's Business Jump and awarded the Excellence Prize at the Japanese Ministry of Culture's 2001 Media Arts Festival.

Fanfare also plans to continue releasing Taniguchi's The Times of Botchan. Three volumes have been released so far, and through 2007, Fanfare intends to release the remaining seven.

Beyond Taniguchi's titles, the company has also acquired Kan Takahama's Awabi and Hideo Aduma's Disappearance Diary.
