Cosplay Summit Convenes at Japan's Foreign Ministry

posted on 2007-08-01 12:24 EDT
For the first time, the International Cosplay Summit visited Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where participants from 12 countries met with Vice Foreign Minister Katsuhito Asano and idol talent Shōko "Shokotan" Nakagawa on August 1. The previous four summits were held entirely within central Japan's city of Nagoya, where this year's summit will continue this weekend. Asano noted that his boss, Foreign Minister Taro Aso, "is a total manga geek," and attempted some classic anime poses with the summit participants during a press conference. Thanks, Lydia Venable.
