Cutie Honey Remade for Live-Action Television
posted on 2007-08-02 07:20 EDT
The first live-action television series based on Go Nagai's Cutie Honey manga will premiere on TV Tokyo on October 2 at 1:00 a.m. 20-year-old Mikie Hara will star as Cutie Honey, one of the first transforming "magical girl" characters from manga and anime.
Makoto Yokoyama, a veteran action choreographer of various Ranger and Masked Rider works, will direct Cutie Honey The Live. Yutaka Izubuchi (Masked Rider Agito, Record of Lodoss War) will design the characters. This series will commemorate Nagai's 40th year as a manga creator. Hideaki Anno directed the earlier 2004 live-action film; two television series, one movie, and several videos have been animated by other teams.
