Evangelion: 1.0 is Now Top Grossing Eva Movie

Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, the first of four new Evangelion movie remakes which opened September 1, has grossed 1.468 billion yen or the equivalent of US$12,774,801 at the Japanese box office, making it the top grossing movie in Gainax and Khara's science fiction franchise to date. The End of Evangelion (1997) grossed 1.45 billion yen (US$12.6 million), and the earlier Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth (1997) grossed 1.1 billion yen (US$9.6 million).
