Tonari no 801 chan Fujoshi Manga to be Animated in 2009

The wraparound jacket band on the third volume of Ajiko Kojima's Tonari no 801-chan manga has announced that the otaku comedy story will be adapted into anime in 2009. The book appears on the boople online bookstore in Japan. The original four-panel Tonari no 801-chan manga blog explores the comical trials and tribulations of an adult fujoshi (an otaku of boys-love stories) and her hapless otaku boyfriend.
Ohzora Publishing Co. published the manga in two earlier volumes that have sold 320,000 copies. There have already been a live-action drama adaptation staring The Prince of Tennis musical's Kōji Seto and a shōjo manga re-imagining in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine.
