California Museum Opens Manga/Anime Exhibit on Friday (Updated)

California's Napa Valley Museum and the Nichi Bei Times newspaper are launching "Manga & Anime: An Exhibition of Popular Cartoon Art" with an opening reception on Friday. Jason Thompson, the Eisner-nominated author of Manga: The Complete Guide, will give a special presentation during the reception. The exhibition in the middle of California's famed "Wine Country" will include artwork from Tak Toyoshima (Secret Asian Man), Deb Aoki (Bento Box), and the winners of Nichi Bei Times' last two annual manga art contests. The exhibition will continue until September 14.
