News Q.E.D. Detective Manga Gets TV Drama with Ai Takahashi

The official website for the Hello Project idol singers has announced that Ai Takahashi of the Morning Musume idol group will star in a live-action television adaptation of Motohiro Katou's Q.E.D. Shōmei Shūryō detective manga early next year. Takahashi will play a cheerful and spirited high school girl named Kana Mizuhara, while Aoi Nakamura will play Sō Tōma, a genius who graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 15. Together, the odd couple solves murders and other mysteries that they stumble across. The 10-episode series will premiere on Japan's NHK public broadcasting system on January 8 at 8:00 p.m.
Takahashi previously played Ai-chan (a super-deformed version of herself) in the Mini Moni the TV anime series and Takahamu (a hamster version of herself) in the animated Hamtaro movies.
