DVD bundled with 15th manga volume to adapt 3 previously unanimated stories

The official website for the Goku Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei OAD (original animation DVD) project is streaming a promotional video for the first DVD volume. The high school comedy centers around a pathologically depressed teacher who somehow finds the will to deal with a class of oddball students. The manga publisher Kodansha will bundle the two anime DVDs with the limited editions for volumes 15 and 16 of Kôji Kumeta's Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei manga. The promotional video highlights the three manga installments that will be animated for the first time on the first DVD: the "Amai Hime" ("Sweet Princess") story from the 13th manga volume, volume 11's "Hakkin-shō" ("Banned Notes"), and volume 7's "Genkei no Tate" ("Prototype Shield").

Del Rey will begin publishing the Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei manga in North America in February 2009.
