New York Anime Festival Reports 18,399 Total Attendees

Unofficial tally is 24% higher than last year's attendance
New York Anime Festival Vice President Lance Fensterman reports that the unofficial attendance number for this past weekend's convention stands at 18,399. This preliminary tally includes regular attendees, professionals, press, and exhibitors, but not some of the tickets sold by retailers. "Just over 14,000" went to last year's inaugural New York Anime Festival, so attendance rose 24% this year. Fensterman also addresses some areas that the staff will examine for possible changes next year, such as the hours of operation for the exhibit hall and artist alley.
