New work to serve as prologue to 30th anniversary of 1982-83 anime

The Production Reed anime studio has revealed in its exhibitor notes for the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) 2009 event that it is starting a new Minky Momo project. The new project is intended as a prologue for the 30th anniversary of the original 1982-1983 Fairy Princess Minky Momo magical girl television anime series. Mami Koyama voiced the title role in the first series, although Megumi Hayashibara assumed the role in the 1991 Mahō no Princess Minky Momo: Yume wo Dakishimete television series and its two video sequels. There has not been a major new Minky Momo anime since 1994's Minky Momo in Tabidachi no Eki video.

Production Reed will discuss business opportunities related to the new project with industry representatives at TAF. It will also hold a special Minky Momo stage event and offer limited-edition items at its booth.
