Director's cut of climactic scenes with new footage to run from April to May

The official website for Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine reports on Tuesday that Sora o Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai, Kyoto Animation's ongoing television remake of its Munto fantasy video series, will get a movie finale in Japanese theaters next month. The film will be a director's cut of the climactic scenes with new footage. The film will run in two theaters in Tokyo and Kyoto from April 18 to May 1.

The fantasy story centers on a seemingly ordinary girl named Yumemi who can see a magical world in the skies above our world, and the king named Munto who must find Yumemi to save his own world. The television series itself premiered in Japan on January 13 and is ending on Tuesday after nine episodes. Central Park Media released the original video series in North America in 2004 and 2006.
