Takashi Tsukamoto to star as host club worker

The Sports Nippon newspaper reports that the Japanese television station TBS will debut a live-action drama adaptation of Ryō Kurashina's Teiō manga in July 15. The story revolves around a young man who loses his girlfriend to the "No. 1 Host" of a cabaret host club. The man vows to not just become a host himself, but the No. 1 Host.

The original Teiō manga ran in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine. Kurashina's other works include Ai Doll, Yaoh, and Juneai; Yaoh was already made into a television drama in 2005. Tsukamoto appeared in live-action versions of Battle Royale, Gokusen, and The Princess Blade (Lady Snowblood) novels and manga, and he also stars in the live-action and anime versions of Ching Ishihara's The 3-Mei-sama ([The ]Three Young-Men in Midnight).
