It took in US$215,741 on 303 screens during its eighth weekend. TMS Entertainment announced on June 10 that the movie had set a new record for the franchise by earning over 3.4 billion yen (US$35 million). It also notes that the original manga books have sold over 120 million copies, and that the television anime version reached its 500th-episode milestone last year.
