Dragon Ball's Toriyama, DNA²'s Katsura to Launch Jiya Manga (Update 2)

posted on by Egan Loo
Sci-fi action mini-series to start in Young Jump mag on December 10

2010's first issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine is announcing this Thursday that popular manga creator Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball, Sand Land) and manga artist Masakazu Katsura (DNA², Video Girl Ai) are launching a new manga mini-series called Jiya in the next issue on December 10. The mini-series is described as a "super science-fiction action" story with an "alien of justice." The first installment will have a color opening page.

The two creators have previously collaborated on a one-shot manga in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine last year. Viz Media publishes Toriyama's Dragon Ball, Sand Land, Cowa!, and Dr. Slump manga in North America. Viz also publishes Katsura's I''s (アイズ) and Video Girl Ai manga, while Dark Horse Comics publishes his Shadow Lady work.
