Kanaban Graphics, the computer animation studio best known for the Usavich cult comedy television series and the Petit Eva - Evangelion@School shorts, has begun streaming the first 150-second episode of its new Yanyan Machiko anime series on its website and on YouTube Friday. The studio plans to stream every episode for free.
The slapstick comedy revolves around a female lamb named Machiko, the former biker-gang-member-turned-fishmonger Toshio, the trash collector Aguri, and the other colorful inhabitants of a fanciful version of the Champs Elysees shopping district.
Kanaban's Usavich anime became a hit on MTV Japan, and the second and third seasons sold 30,000 and 29,000 DVD sets, respectively, in this past year alone.
