P.S. Triple Web Manga's English Translation Ends

Developers add 50 more strips; lower price for apps

The official English blog for the P.S. Triple web manga has announced on February 2 that the manga will no longer be translated into English.

The English translation of IKa's web manga was originally revealed in June 2009. The manga anthropomorphizes the Sony PlayStation 3 and other game consoles into moe characters. In the manga, the title character Triple (Three-san) is trying to succeed as an idol singer against her rivals X-Locks (Hakomaru-san) and Whee! (Wii-san). The manga is available in two apps for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch mobile devices.

The blog post said the project ended because "the effort put into maintaining the blog outweighed the amount of income the franchise needed to keep things going."

As of December, 50 English comic strips —10 in color and 40 in black and white — had been released. As a gift to the fans, the English developers have released 50 more strips on Apple's iTunes Store, and have lowered the price of the apps to US$0.99 each.

The web manga will still continue in Japanese on the manga creator's website.
