Mazinkaizer SKL Anime, Manga, Novel Revealed (Updated)

Latest in MazinKaiser super robot anime franchise inspired by Go Nagai's Mazinger Z

The June issue of Hobby Japan magazine is revealing a new original video animation project called Mazinkaizer SKL on Saturday. The new project is billed as the return of the MazinKaiser anime franchise, which is itself a spinoff from Go Nagai's classic super robot manga and anime series, Mazinger Z. More details will be announced in the future.

The anime studio Brains Base and the distributor Bandai Visual released the first MazinKaiser video anime series in 2001. The Mazinkaiser: Shitou! Ankoku Daishogun video anime project followed in 2003.

Update 2: Go Nagai and Dynamic Planning's official website for the overall Mazinger franchise has confirmed that a novelization, a manga, and an anime are planned for Mazinkaizer SKL. The novelization will run in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Hobby Magazine, while the manga will run on the Shū 2 Comic Gekkin site from Bandai Visual's Emotion video production subsidiary.
