Japanese Box Office, October 30-31

Heartcatch Precure! Hana no Miyako de Fashion Show…Desu ka!?, the ninth film from the Pretty Cure/Precure magical girl franchise, opened at #2 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's box chart. On Box Office Mojo's chart, it opened at #3 with US$2,444,060 on 163 screens.

Umizaru: The Last Message, the third live-action film based on Shuho Sato's manga about the Japanese Coast Guard, dropped from #1 to #4. On Box Office Mojo's chart, it earned the equivalent of US$1,740,485 on 467 screens in its seventh weekend. It now has a total of US$88,741,768.

The Lady Shogun and Her Men, the live-action film adaptation of Fumi Yoshinaga's Ōoku: The Inner Chambers manga, fell from #5 to #8 in its fifth weekend on Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart. (It fell to #9 on Box Office Mojo's chart.) It made US$817,933 on 310 screens for a gross-to-date of US$24,112,659.

The live-action film adaptation of Karuho Shiina's Kimi ni Todoke romantic comedy manga dropped from #6 to #12 on Box Office Mojo's chart. In its sixth weekend, it added US$478,864 on 285 screens to its total of US$16,551,078.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer, the sequel to the two Mobile Suit Gundam 00 television series, stayed at #14 with US$354,442 on 65 screens — 30 more than the previous week. After its seventh weekend, it now has a total of US$9,244,127.

Tatsuya Miyanishi's You Are Umasou (Omae Umasou da na) and Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Studio Ghibli's The Borrowers (Karigurashi no Arrietty) are both no longer listed on the box office charts.
