Anime character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto returns to manga after 14-month hiatus

The April issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine is announcing on Friday that Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's science-fiction manga Neon Genesis Evangelion will resume in the next issue on April 4. The manga has been on hiatus since February of last year, and Sadamoto had previously indicated that the manga would resume this past winter.

In addition to drawing the manga, Sadamoto has been busy as the character designer in Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion television anime series and Khara's ongoing four-film remake of the story. He launched the manga version in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace in 1994 and moved it to Young Ace in the magazine's inaugural issue in 2009. Viz Media published the 12th book volume — the last volume to ship in Japan — last month in North America.
