Runa/Lollipop's Kikuta Launches Reiyaa x Reiyaa Manga

Manga creator Michiyo Kikuta is launching a new battle fantasy manga series called Reiyaa x Reiyaa in the June issue of Kodansha's Nakayoshi shōjo magazine on Saturday. The 53-page opening chapter centers around Reia Mikazuki, a second-year middle school girl with a strong sense of justice. Thanks to a longtime friend, she can transform to fight evil.

Kikuta had previously drawn the Save Me! Lollipop (Mamotte! Lollipop) manga in the same Nakayoshi magazine from 2002 to 2005. She then drew the manga adaptation of Miyoko Ikeda's Fairy Navigator Runa (Yokai Navi Runa) children's book series in Nakayoshi from 2008 to 2010. Del Rey published the entire seven-volume Mamotte! Lollipop manga in North America. Del Rey also published the second volume of the Fairy Navigator Runa manga last October before Kodansha took over publishing duties for Del Rey's manga titles. Funimation released the Save Me! Lollipop anime in 2009.

Another manga creator, Ema Toyama, will run chapters of both Watashi ni xx Shinasai! and Kamikami Kaeshi in the July issue of Nakayoshi on June 3.
