Manga-Based Live-Action Kaibutsu-kun Returns in Special

Arashi band member Satoshi Ohno will reprise his lead role in a live-action Kaibutsu-kun special to air this fall before the premiere of the upcoming film. Ohno stars as the titular monster prince character.
The special will feature stars Norito Yashima, Ryūhei Ueshima, South Korean kickboxer Choi Hong-man, Tokio member Masahiro Matsuoka as Prince of the Demon World, and Becky, who will be playing Kaibutsu-kun's betrothed. Ryuushin Hamada will play Kaibutsu-kun's only friend in the world of humans, Hiroshi. Umika Kawashima will play the character Utako, and the Demon King's second in command, Demoriina, will be played by Izumi Inamori.
Fujiko Fujio A's Kaibutsu-kun manga was previously adapted into two anime series, a live action TV show, a 90 minute television special, and most recently a 3D film to air this Christmas.
